Series 4
June 22, 29 / July 6, 13, 20, 27 / Aug 3
During this seven-week series we will cover what to expect in the third trimester of your pregnancy through caring for your newborn. We will introduce and practice a variety of non-medication pain management/coping techniques, discuss support roles, signs of labor, medical interventions, pain medication options, vaginal and cesarean birth, infant feeding, newborn care, and transition to postpartum.
You will also be given access to our eLearning page that provides in-depth information on how to work through labor pain. We cover labor rhythms, relaxation exercises, cognitive strategies, body mechanics, and gate control techniques. This information is supplemental to the class and is intended for you to work through at your own pace.
Weekly classes will be taught virtually through Zoom. Each participant will be scheduled for a private, in-person tour of the KVH Family Birthing Place with childbirth educator Julie Harwell, RN, BSN.
The KVH Family Birthing offers a range of classes including education siblings and grandparents, and free prenatal lactation consultations. All classes are offered virtually.
