Nutrition Classes

Classes are currently on hold due to COVID-19. We plan to resume classes in July through a virtual setting using Zoom.

Diabetes 101 Survival Skills

Intended for people who have recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes or for those just wanting more information on better management, the Diabetes 101 group class will provide beneficial information for everyone. It is a great way to resource share with others. Our Registered Dietitian and Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (DCES) instructs the class.

Class topics include:

  • What is Diabetes?
  • Reduction Complications
  • Blood Sugar Monitoring
  • Foot Care
  • Medications
  • Healthy Coping
  • Physical Activity
  • Meal Planning

Ask your medical provider for a referral to attend this class. Classes are offered the second Wednesday of the month. Most health insurance plans cover the diabetes education class. Check with your insurance provider with any questions about diabetes education coverage. Call 509-962-7373 if you would like further information.
