KVH Hospital’s Nutrition Services is dedicated to providing patients, staff, visitors, and the community with high quality patient and café meals. Our department integrates clinical nutrition services with delicious food and excellent hospitality.
Specialty nutrition services are provided by registered dietitians that conduct inpatient nutrition assessment and provide education and follow-up consultation as needed.
KVH Hospital’s dietitians are part of a comprehensive healthcare team providing nutrition services. Clinical dietitians provide assessments of patients’ nutritional status and education to hospitalized patients and their families. Working with physicians, they make recommendations for specialized feedings and nutrition support for patients. Dietitians interact daily with members of the healthcare team to ensure that our patients’ nutritional needs are met while they are in our hospital and when they are discharged.
Physicians may also refer individuals on an outpatient basis for nutrition counseling. The registered dietitians at KVH Hospital work with adults and children of all ages with a wide range healthcare concerns related to nutrition. These concerns may include:
- Diabetes
- Gastrointestinal diseases and issues
- Heart disease
- High blood pressure
- Eating disorders
- Weight management
