On November 3, voters elected Bob Davis, Matthew Altman, and Erica Libenow to the Board of Commissioners for Kittitas County Public Hospital District No. 1. The board, comprised of five members, oversees the operations of the public hospital district that covers Lower Kittitas County, which does business as Kittitas Valley Healthcare.
Commissioners for Kittitas County Public Hospital District No. 1 are publicly elected to six-year terms, though terms may be shorter if the candidate is elected to a position that was vacated mid-term. Matthew Altman and Erica Libenow were both elected to full six-year terms. Their terms will expire in 2021. Bob Davis was elected to fill the four-year balance of an active term. His term will expire in 2019.
“We’re grateful for the community interest in the election for the KVH Board of Commissioners,” said Paul Nurick, CEO of KVH. "Now that the elections are over, we will work on further engaging our staff and community while we continue to provide the excellent care that has led to national recognition as a Top 20 healthcare system."
KVH will host a public gathering for the community to meet the new commissioners after they have all taken their new positions. Since Davis was elected to an active term, he will take office after the election results are certified on November 24. Altman and Libenow will take office after the current elected commissioners' terms expire on December 31.
