Retirement Gathering for Jan Paxton, PA-C and Don Solberg, MD

Kittitas Valley Healthcare will host a retirement gathering for two long-time healthcare providers as they transition into the next phase of their lives.  Dr. Don Solberg and physician assistant Jan Paxton will both retire from their clinical practices at KVH Family Medicine – Ellensburg this year.

“The impact these two incredible individuals have had on this community cannot be measured,” said Liahna Armstrong, President of the KVH Board of Commissioners.  “They have both dedicated their lives to providing compassionate care.  The bond between a healthcare provider and a patient is a special one; I know that Jan Paxton and Dr. Solberg have touched many lives, mine included.”

The retirement gathering will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26 in the lobby of KVH Family Medicine – Ellensburg.  Attendees are welcome to stop by any time during the reception.  Light refreshments will be provided.

Jan Paxton, PA-C, will retire on September 1 after a 31 year medical career.

Jan began her career with Kaiser Permanente in Longview, Washington after attending the University of Washington MEDEX Northwest physician assistant program. She moved to Ellensburg in 1988, when she began working at the Central Washington University Student Medical and Counseling Clinic.  She made a final transfer to The Valley Clinic (now named KVH Family Medicine – Ellensburg) in 1992, where she has remained for the duration of her career.

Don Solberg, MD, retired from clinical practice on July 1 after 37 years of service.  He continues to hold a half-time position with KVH as the Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. Solberg graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine.  He then completed a three-year residency in Greeley, Colorado, followed by two years of independent practice in the small mountain town of Granby, Colorado.  Dr. Solberg moved to Ellensburg in 1979 to join The Valley Clinic (now named KVH Family Medicine – Ellensburg).  He held his position there until his retirement from clinical practice.
