The Family Birthing Place is a locked unit, with its own waiting room.To enter, press the white button and wait for staff to let you in.We have two triage rooms. These rooms are used for prenatal monitoring and labor checks. We have three rooms ideal for antepartum observation, induction, and cesarean birth.
Designed for comfort, these rooms each have a bathroom with a shower, a convenient
sleeper sofa for an adult overnight guest, rocking chair, TV with a DVD player, and a
mini-fridge.We have three Labor Delivery Recovery Postpartum (LDRP) suites designed for the comfort of new moms and their families. These suites allow moms to remain in the same room throughout all stages of childbirth. Each room has a bathroom with a large whirlpool tub, a convenient sleeper sofa for an adult overnight guest, rocking chair, TV with a DVD player, and a mini-fridge.Each room has a specialty birthing bed that can accommodate a variety of labor and delivery positions. The flexible design allows us to lower or remove the foot of the bed, attach a labor bar that can support mothers with the squat position, among other features. Many women find that using the whirlpool tub during labor helps them to cope with labor contractions. Although we encourage the use of the bathtub during labor, we cannot deliver your baby in the water.Within our unit, we have one designated surgical suite that is equipped for Cesarean births. Our Special Care Nursery is used for newborns who require close observation. If your baby requires a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) they will be transported to another facility by Life Flight or Airlift NW.
