Emergency Department Director receives regional award

Eric Davis, director of the Emergency Department at Kittitas Valley Community Hospital, was recently named the TeamHealth Northwest Division Emergency Manager of the Year.

Emergency Department directors of hospitals in four Northwest states that are affiliated with TeamHealth were considered for the award.  TeamHealth provides healthcare professionals for Emergency Departments and other hospital-based service areas at approximately 700 medical facilities throughout the nation.

Davis, a registered nurse, has been a KVCH employee since 2004 when he began in the Critical Care Unit.  He transferred to work primarily in the Emergency Department in 2007.  Shortly after his transition to the Emergency Department, he began working as a House Supervisor.  The promotion to Emergency Department Director came in late 2009.

"Eric has such a passion for the work that he is doing," said Bif Fink, TeamHealth Northwest Vice President of Client Services.  "He has really brought his team together.  Out of his work has come three awards specific to the Emergency Department at KVCH."  Fink references three of the eight quality awards presented to KVCH by the Rural Healthcare Quality Network in 2011.  The awards specific to the Emergency Department were Stroke Systems Leadership, Emergency Department Door to Electrocardiogram in Under 10 Minutes, and Emergency Department Transfer Time Under 30 Minutes.
