COVID-19 Exposure

If you are exhibiting symptoms that you feel require immediate medical attention, please call 9-1-1. If you are experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19 but do not require emergent care, please contact your primary care provider.
If you were exposed to someone who has had COVID-19, quarantine according to Washington State Department of Health Guidelines. If you are seeking care during your quarantine, contact your healthcare provider prior to your visit.
If you tested positive with a home test you do not need to be tested with a lab test at a test site to confirm the result. Presume that you have COVID-19 and self-isolate according to current Washington State Department of Health Guidelines.
If you are otherwise healthy with mild symptoms and cannot find testing availability, you should presume that you have COVID-19 and you should self-isolate according to current Washington State Department of Health Guidelines.
COVID-19 Test Results

- Patients will be notified of their COVID test result via the phone number given at time of registration. KVH staff review results daily.
- Results are available to patients via the KVH Patient Portal as soon as the test has been complete. See below on how to access the KVH Patient Portal.
- Please do not contact the KVH Laboratory asking for COVID results. If you do not have access to the Patient Portal and are looking for your result you may call KVH Hospital at 509.962.9841.
- A negative (or “Not Detected” test result means that the virus that causes COVID-19 was not found in your sample at the time it was collected. Virus development and continued exposure to others can produce a different result in subsequent tests.
- A positive (or “Detected” test result means that the virus that causes COVID-19 was found in your sample at the time it was collected. See the Washington State Department of Health’s “What to do if you test positive for COVID-19” for further information.

KVH COVID Testing Clinics
The KVH COVID clinics closed on March 31, 2022.
If you are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms, testing is available at the KVH Hospital Laboratory. Please go to Hospital Registration and tell them you are there for COVID testing. Walk-in Covid-19 testing is available Monday – Friday from 9A-5P at the KVH Hospital Lab.
If insurance is available, we will bill the insurance company for the cost of the test. Individuals should not receive a bill for a co-pay or deductible. If you have any questions you may call KVH Patient Financial Services at 509.933.8657.
