COVID-19 Testing

Face coverings are required at all KVH facilities.

COVID-19 Exposure

Learn more about COVID-19 symptoms and when to seek emergency medical attention.

If you are exhibiting symptoms that you feel require immediate medical attention, please call 9-1-1. If you are experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19 but do not require emergent care, please contact your primary care provider.

What if you were exposed?

If you were exposed to someone who has had COVID-19, quarantine according to Washington State Department of Health Guidelines.  If you are seeking care during your quarantine, contact your healthcare provider prior to your visit.

What if you tested positive with a home test?

If you tested positive with a home test you do not need to be tested with a lab test at a test site to confirm the result. Presume that you have COVID-19 and self-isolate according to current Washington State Department of Health Guidelines.

What if you have mild systems and cannot find testing?

If you are otherwise healthy with mild symptoms and cannot find testing availability, you should presume that you have COVID-19 and you should self-isolate according to current Washington State Department of Health Guidelines.

  3. Please do not contact the KVH Laboratory asking for COVID results.  If you do not have access to the Patient Portal and are looking for your result you may call KVH Hospital at 509.962.9841.

What do my COVID test results mean?

  1. A negative (or “Not Detected” test result means that the virus that causes COVID-19 was not found in your sample at the time it was collected. Virus development and continued exposure to others can produce a different result in subsequent tests.
  2. A positive (or “Detected” test result means that the virus that causes COVID-19 was found in your sample at the time it was collected.  See the Washington State Department of Health’s “What to do if you test positive for COVID-19” for further information.
