The 31st annual Kittitas Valley Community Hospital rodeo barbecue will be held on Wednesday, August 22 between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the north parking lot at the hospital. The event is recognized by many local residents as the unofficial beginning of the Kittitas County rodeo season. Average attendance in past years has been about 650 people.
Entertainment will be provided by JP Ultimate Entertainment. JP Ultimate Entertainment has provided live country western music during the annual barbecue for the past 19 years. The Ellensburg Rodeo 2012 Royal Court will also be present during the event.
By popular demand, the menu will remain the same as in 2011. Barbecue pork ribs, wild Alaskan salmon, Old Settlers' baked beans, fresh fruits and salads, granny dinner rolls, ice cream sandwiches, and a variety of beverages will be available. Tickets are $9 for general admission, $8 for seniors, $8 for KVCH employees and their families, and $7 for children. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the front desk of the hospital or at the event.
