Dr. Robert Meyer Joins KVH Workplace Health

Kittitas Valley Healthcare welcomes Robert Meyer, DO to Ellensburg.  Dr. Meyer joins Ryan Ahr, PA-C, at KVH Workplace Health, a service that focuses on occupational medicine.

Dr. Meyer began his medical career as a flight surgeon, USAG-Humphreys, Korea in 2006. It was in this role that he began practicing occupational medicine.  Most recently, Dr. Meyer was working at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton where he practiced at one of the largest industrial complexes on the west coast.  He received his specialty training at Mount Sinai Medical School in New York, and performs the full range of occupational medicine services.  He has received additional training in radiation health, and diving medicine.  He is a fellow of the Arizona Center of Integrative Medicine, and an acupuncturist in training.

Occupational medicine is a healthcare specialty that focuses on the maintenance of health in the workplace.  If workplace injuries do occur, occupational medicine works in conjunction with Workers’ Compensation programs to treat employees and return them to work as quickly as possible with the least amount of hassle for both the employee and employer.

In many cases, an employee’s relationship with KVH Workplace Health will begin even before their first day of work.  KVH Workplace Health offers pre-employment drug screening and examinations that are required before beginning work, like fitness for duty tests or medical examinations for commercial driver’s licenses in Washington State. Staff certified in hearing conservation by the Council for Accreditation in Occupation Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) are available and able to help both employers and employees with noise exposure monitoring, audiometric testing and other hearing conservation elements.

The KVH Workplace Health facility is located behind Kittitas Valley Urgent Care at 702 E Mountain View Ave, Suite 2, in Ellensburg, midway between KVH Hospital and KVH Physical Therapy.  The service is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Walk-ins or appointments are accepted.
