National Volunteer Week will be celebrated this year from April 10 to April 16. KVH usually hosts about 90 to 100 active volunteers a year who are very generous with their time and efforts.
“I appreciate each and every volunteer at KVH,” said Karen Schock, director of volunteer services for KVH. “When you work this closely with such an extraordinary group you feel lucky to come to work every day.”
Volunteers at KVH include undergraduate college students, medical students in a variety of fields and experience levels, and in-service volunteers. Each volunteer has a minimum commitment of four hours per week for at least six months. These unpaid positions provide support across the organization.
This year’s volunteer celebration features a profile on long-time volunteer Judy Ragland. Judy has volunteered in the Imaging Department since 2002 and, among many other volunteer projects during her tenure, she helped initiate the effort to create the Healing Garden at KVH. Judy’s profile is shared on the KVH website.
