KVH Women’s Health is now offering obstetric (OB) services. Obstetric services will supplement the gynecology services that have been available at KVH Women’s Health since it opened in 2008.
While the service is new to the clinic, Dr. Ginger Longo, the primary physician of KVH Women’s Health, is an experienced obstetrician. She cared for obstetric patients as a labor and delivery nurse for nine years before attending medical school at University of Texas, where she specialized in obstetrics and gynecology during her internship and residency. Following medical school, she worked in obstetrics and gynecology for three years before transitioning to gynecology only.
Dr. Longo is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG). This requires her to maintain certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
“Obstetrics is such a fulfilling area of medicine. There’s nothing quite like helping women through the pregnancy and delivery process,” says Dr. Longo, herself a mother of four girls.
Teresa Beckett, a physician assistant and nurse practitioner at KVH Women’s Health, agrees with Dr. Longo. “To be part of a woman’s pregnancy journey is amazing – every time,” she says. Teresa Beckett also specialized in women’s health during her medical training.
KVH Women’s Health can care for women at every stage of their pregnancy journey, whether already pregnant, planning for a pregnancy, or needing assistance in becoming pregnant. Dr. Longo provides care for normal- and high-risk pregnancies.
KVH Women’s Health is accepting new patients for both obstetrics and gynecology services. For more information, call (509) 933-8720 or visit their website
