Kittitas Valley Community Hospital will participate in a program designed for women undergoing cancer treatment called Look Good...Feel Better. This free service is part of a nationwide public service program dedicated to improving the self-esteem and quality of life for women undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, or other forms of cancer treatment.
Look Good...Feel Better offers women a free session with a licensed cosmetologist where they learn beauty techniques to help them manage the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. Women who participate will also receive a free makeup kit with brand-name cosmetics. They can also experiment with various hats, wigs, and turbans during the session.
Group sessions of Look Good...Feel Better will be held the fourth Friday of each month in the Café Conference Room at KVCH. Women interested in attending should contact Karen Schock at (509) 962-7322.
Look Good...Feel Better is a volunteer-run program that uses products donated by Personal Care Products Council member companies. It is also supported by the American Cancer Society and the Professional Beauty Association | National Cosmetology Association.
